Our Story: From Paddocks to Showgrounds
Step back to July 1856, when a humble ploughing competition on Messer Baird’s farm sparked a tradition that would grow into the Ballarat Agricultural and Pastoral Society. Led by its first President, Robert Muir, the Society nurtured Victoria’s agricultural spirit, moving to its current grounds in 2024.
Today, the three-day November Show is a vibrant celebration of country life and community joy, with live-stock parades, dazzling craft displays, thrilling competitions, and hands-on children’s activities. From past to present, the Show continues to blend heritage, excitement, and unforgettable memories for families across generations.
